Georgia is growing up to be such a sweet girl. Her energy and bubbly spirit are contagious, and she has brightened our days ever since we brought her home 5 years ago. We are sad to look back on these clips and see that she's not a baby anymore, but are proud of who she is becoming. We love you sweetie!

"Santa ights, Santa ights!!"
Tonight we went for a drive looking at "santa ights" (Chloe's pronounciation). Both girls were captivated, but Chloe was especially excited. As far as the homes that we were viewing, the girls might offer a better perspective on their sizes:

Our baby is not much of a baby any more. Autumn did a great job of capturing our precious girl.

Georgia's birthday party was a rockin' success; one of her friends even said, "I will never forget this party!" Lots of friends and family were there to celebrate with her. The rhinestone decorated microphones were a hit, and all the girls gave us a show singing Hannah Montana at the top of their lungs!

It's the most wonderful time of the year???
I hope that doesn't make me sound like a scrooge. I love Christmas. I love traditions. I love having opportunities to be with family and friends. I love seeing Georgia and Chloe's eyes light up with excitement at any and every display of Christmas lights. I just don't like the stress and pressure that comes along with it! I have tried to be organized this year: presents are purchased AND wrapped, Christmas cards are designed AND mailed, and decorations have been flung in every corner of my home. I should be able to relax now, but alas, I have much, much more to do! In the next 10 days we have 3 Christmas parties, 1 birthday party for Georgia, and 1 baby shower. All will be fun, but just the thought of it and the preparations for each make me sleepy.
Georgia's birthday party is next week, and we are going with a "rocker" girl theme. I do hope that she remembers us in our old age; the things we will do for a 5th birthday! I had the idea that it would be cute to decorate microphones with rhinestones as a craft during the party. I know, it sounds simple enough, but the problem is that all the microphones were ugly colors, so...I HAD to spray paint them all black, of course! But, the paint won't adhere to one tiny section, which is ruining the whole "look," so Kevin took over; hopefully he can make it work!
On a much more cheerful note, we did get to go ice skating with the college students this weekend. Georgia and Chloe loved it. Chloe scooted around in her tennis shoes, and couldn't have been more happy to simply walk in circles around the outdoor rink. Georgia was terrified once she realized how slick it was. I was seriously worried that either Kevin or I would get stabbed in the shin by her blades with how much her legs were flailing! Eventually she figured out that she could do pretty well by holding onto the edge, and would slowly make her way around. I think the hot chocolate was the highlight of her evening.

10 random facts about me...
...Hmmm, Krista has tagged me, so here are 10 things you might or might not have known about me.
1. I HATE clutter, and am a compulsive discarder! Too many things in my "space" stresses me out, so I frequently can be found going through my house with a trash bag throwing away things that seem to be of no use to me. While Kevin is just as much of a "minimalist" as I am, he usually watches with raised eyebrows (probably because I have thrown away things that we eventually end up needing, and have to buy again). I can't help it!
2. The combination of popcorn and plain M&M's is one of my favorite treats. But, I can't just eat them any old way! The only way to truly enjoy the sweet and salty combination is to get one piece of popcorn and place one M&M in the groove of the kernel, place in mouth and enjoy!
3. I just played frisbee for the first time 2 days ago (Kevin made me), and if I do say so myself, I'm pretty good.
5. I am a very competitive card player (uno, skip-bo, spades, etc), and HATE to lose!
6. Baking breads and treats is one of my favorite things to do, but if I never had to cook a meal again I would be in heaven!
7. Outlet shopping gives me an adrenaline rush. My skin starts to tingle and my senses are heightened the closer we get to an outlet mall. I even found an outlet mall in Hawaii. I love that I can get brand names at lower prices! Krista, Autumn, if I am ever down visiting either of you and I seem indifferent as to what to do, I'm only hiding my true feelings...I LOVE Allen outlets!
8. I'm strongly considering homeschooling my girls. I only have until next fall to decide, so I better figure out what I'm going to do!
9. Going to a restaurant is one of my favorite ways to spend an evening (see #6); I love that I can get good food that I don't have to prepare or clean up after, and just enjoy conversation.
10. I want my house to look like a Pottery Barn catalog: modern, but not cold, organized, and welcoming. It's a good thing I have a husband that can replicate their furniture, because I certainly can't afford the real thing!

Autumn Days
We were headed to bring G to school, and I had to take a quick picture of the girls in their fall attire; I love this season!
Happy 2nd Birthday!
C turned 2 this weekend, and we celebrated with a Dora party. It seems like she understood that this was a milestone and almost overnight has started acting older (at least that's what K and I think). I guess that must explain why whenever we ask her how old she is she raises her hand and excitedly proclaims "5!"

G: Mom, am I going to get to play after I get dressed?
Me: I don't know; you were getting too wild and I'm thinking about sending you straight to bed.
G: But I will be really good, and I won't be naughty.
Me: Maybe.
G: Mom, did you know that I love you.....and that I,...I "cove" you too.
Me: Cove me?
G: It means that I love you, and (long pause, searching for words) I love yourself, and I love my momma.
Due to her creative language skills, she got to stay up.

K's current project
C's birthday is coming up soon, and daddy wanted to make her a cradle for her baby dolls. She loves covering them up and "shushing" them to sleep, but had nowhere to lay them. So, we found one from PBKids that he is patterning hers after. He still has to add spindles to the sides, rockers to the bottom, and paint (his favorite part); but I think it looks great, and will be something she keeps forever.

Tonight was G's first soccer practice, and she couldn't have had more fun. She didn't do much beyond kicking her ball across the field and occasionally getting her ponytail caught in the net, but she was grinning from ear to ear the entire time.

A conversation with my 4 year old
Conversing with G is sure to surprise and entertain.
Today, after school, on the way home.
Me: How was school today?
G: Fun, (gasp), I got to see a police officer!
Me: Really?! What did he say?
G: He was nice, and he did not kill us.
Me: Well, of course he was nice; he is a good guy, and keeps us safe from the bad guys.
G: I got to see his gun.
Me: Wow!
G: Actually, he wasn't a police officer, he was the mail man.
Me: ?? What? I thought you saw his gun?
G: I did, but he was a mail man.
Me: (confused) Well, what did the mail man say about his job?
G: He DID NOT use his pepperspray {okay, how does she know what that is?!?!}, but I saw it and it was SO AWESOME.
Me: I think that you got a visit from a police officer, not the mail man.
G: No, I KNOW that it was the mail man.
No matter how much I tried, I couldn't convice otherwise. I'll have to talk to her teacher to figure out what's going on.

Sisters
G and C are so sweet together. Though they occasionally fight (like all sisters do!), they are also very loving and considerate toward each other. When C has a messy face after eating, G will get a baby wipe to clean it off (without being asked). While G is at school, C is sure to mention to anyone who looks her way that sister is at "cool." They are each other's constant companion and greatest ally. I pray that as they grow, they will continue to foster such a great friendship.

I forgot about the turtles!!
I forgot to mention about Turtle beach on the north shore of Oahu, which is literally crawling with turtles. And not just little turtles, but huge sea turtles. At one point we had 3 huddled around our ankles! One even chased me (well, as fast as turtles can chase anyway...).

Aloha!
Hawaii was more fun than we could have ever imagined. Oahu and Kauai were beautiful and filled with exciting things to see and do. While we missed the girls tremendously, we knew they were in good hands with nanny and papa (plus, it was nice to get a break!)
