It's getting closer...

After many long nights of both of us doing a lot of this...

We are finally making some headway! The cabinet frames are completely finished (notice the new crown molding on top!), and the drawers are installed with the new hardware. It is amazing how paint and drawer pulls can completely change the look. All of our cabinet doors are needing two more coats, so hopefully by the weekend we will have our kitchen back. I told the college students who came over for the weekly Bible study that with our doors off, I felt like I was baring my soul; it definitely motivates you to de-clutter!

Georgia kept herself busy ALL DAY TODAY working on a paper purse. It was completely her idea, and she did it herself. The contents include: cell phone, keys, lipstick, lotion, a compact, and credit cards (notice, the Bank of America debit card, Sam's Club card, and Citi Rewards card...). I love that she has fun being creative.

What's the Phrase of the Day, Kids?!

"If we're gonna do it, we're gonna do it right." I bet you can't tell which one of us said that...
(hint: its the guy taping off our kitchen so that dust doesn't settle anywhere else).

I am very excited to start our kitchen "makeover!" Actually, all we are doing is painting the cabinets white and adding knobs, but I think it will be a dramatic transformation. And while I make fun of Kevin for taking extra precautions every step of the way, I know that in the end, I will have professional looking craftmanship. I'll be sure to keep you updated.

"I do it myself, mama!"

Chloe fed herself some Cocoa pebbles this morning.
They are sticky.
They are messy.
Nothing will go to waste.

Snow bunnies

Considering where I grew up, this amount of snowfall wouldn't even be worth mentioning, but to our girls it is almost magical.

(Christmas post to come soon)
